Koji Nakagawa was born June 26, 1969 in Tokyo, Japan. Nakagawa would begin training in the FMW Dojo in 1991 where he met fellow Dojo member Eiji Ezaki and would make his wrestling debut against Ezaki on March 20, 1992 and would also face Ezaki at the May 5, 1993 Kawasaki Stadium show. Nakagawa would work under card FMW matches with Masato Tanaka and Tetsuhiro Kuroda for years against the likes of W*ING and Funk Masters of Wrestling. Nakagawa who is the spokesperson for the FMW locker room would be announced as assistant booker behind Go Ito in 1996.

Nakagawa would feud with Hayabusa over Hayabusa leaving FMW months before and leaving Tanaka and himself to defend against Victor Quinones' cronies and would lose in Hayabusa's return match on August 1, 1996 but would get revenge in the rematch by cleanly defeating Hayabusa on August 23, 1996 at Korakuen Hall.

On September 1, 1996, Nakagawa took one of the nastiest looking bumps in wrestling when he was sent into exploding barbwire and then kicked in the head and would fall into exploding landmines.

In 1997, Nakagawa  would be fired as assistant bookers and a few months after that, due to money problems FMW fired Nakagawa. He would be brought back very soon afterwards though.

On November 28, 1997 at Korakuen Hall, who was known for always be a very quiet wrestler did a lengthy interview telling Shoichi Arai that he felt betrayed after all the years of hard work, he was still let go by the promotion. On December 13, 1997 after Hayabusa did an interview telling the fans, no matter what FMW will always be number one, Nakagawa attacked Hayabusa and had to be held back by several wrestlers.

On December 22, 1997 at Korakuen Hall, Mr. Gannosuke and Yukihiro Kanemura turned on Atsushi Onita and began tying him up and slapping as Nakagawa came to the ring and knocked both wrestlers out with a chair. Nakagawa was now a member of Atsushi Onita's ZEN.

On May 31, 1998, Koji Nakagawa teamed up with Atsushi Onita to take on Kodo Fuyuki and Yukihiro Kanemura. Nakagawa would turn on Onita hitting him from behind with a crutch, afterwards Koji Nakagawa was announced the new member of Team No Respect and would earn the nickname "Mr. Double Cross"

On August 22, 1998 after scoring a pinfall over Hayabusa in a single elimination the month before, Nakagawa wrestled The Darkside of Hayabusa and would get the biggest win of his career as he pinned Hayabusa to become the number one contender for the FMW Double Titles and would get that shot on October 6, 1998 at Korakuen Hall, but would fall short and lose to Hayabusa cleanly.

Koji Nakagawa would stay loyal to Team No Respect no matter what throughout all of 1999, but then on May 28, 2000 at Korakuen Hall, Nakagawa turned on TNR members Jado and Gedo in a WEW 6 Man Titles match by hitting Gedo with the Title belt helping Fuyuki get the pin. Later in the show, Nakagawa would come out in a new ring attire and new name known as Goemon and would join Fuyuki's new group.

Goemon would get in a feud in late 2000 with FMW newcomer Onryo, and would challenge him for Onryo's belt of curse, which the loser would win the belt. Goemon lost to Onryo on November 12, 2000 at the Yokohama Bunka Gym, and would slowly began to die, as he kept challenging Onryo to get rid of the belt but would always lose until December 10, 2000 at Korakuen Hall, with doctors telling him not to wrestle, Goemon would still challenge Onryo to lose the belt, but would begin to bleed internally and would eventually die during the match.

On December 20, 2000 at Korakuen Hall, Onryo announced he would have a mystery partner against Shinjuku Shark and Naohiro Yamazaki, and Goemon's music began to play and Goemon came out his coffin from the dead to help Onryo beat Shark and Yamazaki. The two would become permanent tag partners and Goemon stayed loyal with Fuyuki until June 8, 2001 at Korakuen Hall when Fuyuki announced he would buy FMW from under Shoichi Arai and asked every wrestler to side with him. Onryo would shove Goemon over to Hayabusa's side of wrestlers that would not join him but Onryo would stay over by Fuyuki's side, when all the wrestlers would leave, Fuyuki went to shake Onryo's hand, but Onryo slapped it away. Fuyuki would force a match right then and there against Onryo and would destroy him for the win and would begin beating him up until Goemon came out to make the save.

Goemon is currently a fan favorite in FMW with his friend Onryo and the two represent the only solid tag team in the promotion.
